For your event, Katie Mathieu brings over 30 years of experience in professional kitchens, wilderness settings and elevated private hospitality. She creates unique and artful table experiences while also crafting casual, comfortable, and nourishing menus—food that keeps guests energized, satisfied, and well‑fed long after they’ve left your party. Known for her upbeat and professional demeanor, tidy and attractive workspaces, and adaptable personality, she is skilled in menu creation, vendor coordination, and managing all aspects of private eventsShe can turn any space into a dinner party.

Her work has taken her on luxury adventures in Nunavut, including Baffin Island, Saint Barths, the Bahamas, and the island of Molokai. Her garden experience includes an eight‑month period of study at Linnaea Farm on Cortes Island, a renowned Permaculture school, as well as an eight‑month apprenticeship at Michael Stadlander’s Eigensinn Farm, where she built and managed three kitchen gardens supplying his award‑winning restaurant. She has hands-on experience with mycology, foraging, organic gardens, cooking over fire, and ferments, and is happy to share knowledge with interested guests when invited.

She has built rooftop gardens for some of Toronto’s favourite chefs, including during Matty Matheson’s tenure at Parts & Labour, where rooftop‑grown ingredients were a celebrated part of the restaurant’s offerings. She holds her Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)She has a long history of volunteer work and activism around food security.

Katie’s personal favourite events are retreats and micro-weddings, where she can support relaxation and connection. She believes that eating well and winding down with coworkers, friends, or loved ones is essential, and helping guests experience that is where she delivers her best work.
